Soroush Oil Refinery is under construction in the Qeshm Free Economic Zone with the goal of meeting the growing global demand for bitumen and reducing crude oil exports. The refinery, designed with an annual processing capacity of 1.5 million tons of crude oil, operates under the license of Porner GmbH (Austria) and utilizes the advanced Biturox-Plus technology. This cutting-edge method ensures minimal waste while refining crude oil and fully complies with European Union environmental standards.

The refinery’s final output will consist of 35% diesel and 61% bitumen. In addition to bitumen production, the project presents significant opportunities for establishing auxiliary facilities, including drum manufacturing, packaging, insulation products, and coatings for oil and gas pipelines. These developments are expected to generate 2,000 new jobs in the region.
